Database Administrator

Job Description:
The SQL DBA will be part of the Technology Services and Enterprise Production server team. This individual will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple IT teams and clients to produce a high level of client satisfaction.

Job Duties
• Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, management, security, performance tuning, version migrations, upgrades, troubleshooting and day to day support of all production databases and database environments.
• Providing administration and support for our development team, creating permanent solutions using standards and automation and facilitating a stable and reliable production environment across platforms and systems.
• Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Actively identify incidents and as necessary manage the incident resolution process to provide service recovery and manage client communications and expectations in respect to incident resolution
• Database backup, restore, consistency checking and repair
• Replication Server design, build and support
• Work through Annual Disaster Recovery testing and BCP planning
• Interact with various internal IT support functions, Development, Quality Assurance, Operations and external 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve problems
• Performing tasks on weekends and off business hours to cover support and system upgrade requirements
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies (i.e. change management, IT security standards, release management, incident management)
• Continuous improvement of Database environment and support processes

Requirements
• MSSQL 2000/2005/2008 Strong T-SQL experience
• Experience in Oracle Database and MySQL a strong plus
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent technical knowledge
• Mandatory 3-5 years of SSIS experience
• Performance Tuning experience
• SQL Server Reporting Services
• Crystal Reports experience
• Experience with Clustering and Enterprise sized Databases
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Experience in a Citrix Environment a plus
• Strong scripting skills a plus. (C#, VBscript, etc)
• Knowledge of .NET, C, C++ and VB technologies is a plus
• Ability to work under pressure and delivery under tight deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
• Ability to manage multiple ongoing work streams simultaneously
• Strong customer service focus with a desire to deliver a high quality service
