CCJ magazine takes top editorial
honors
Editorial Director Avery Vise wins coveted Jesse H. Neal Award
TUSCALOOSA,
ALA. (March 2004) – Randall Publishing Co.’s Commercial Carrier
Journal magazine won the Jesse H. Neal Award in the Best Subject-Related
Series of Articles category at the 50th annual Neal Awards luncheon held
at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City on March 18, 2004.
CCJ’s six-part series, “The Cost of Risk,”
by Editorial Director Avery Vise, details steps motor carriers can take
to control high insurance costs and to protect themselves from multi-million
dollar lawsuits. “Hats off to Avery for this hard-hitting, informative
series,” says Chip Magner, CCJ publisher. “We knew
it was a ‘must-read’ for CCJ’s readers, but we’re
pleased it also received the recognition it deserved from our publishing
peers.”
Editors of Truckers News, CCJ’s sister publication, were
also among three finalists in the 2004 Neal category of Best Single Article
for their coverage of cargo theft in the special report, “Highway
Robbery.”
“Randall Publishing’s trucking magazines win numerous editorial
awards each year,” says Linda Longton, Randall vice president of
editorial. “They are all important and a testament to Randall’s
commitment to producing outstanding editorial. But none is as coveted
as the prestigious Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award.”
