Exhibition industry magazine honors GATS for fast growth
Exhibitors increased 41 percent; exhibit space grew 81 percent in three years.

TUSCALOOSA, ALA. (December, 2006) – Randall-Reilly Publishing’s Great American Trucking Show was named Fastest Growing Consumer-Hybrid Show by Tradeshow Week magazine at the 4th Annual Tradeshow Week Fastest 50 awards gala held last month in Boston. The Consumer-Hybrid category includes shows that combine trade and consumer elements.

Held in Dallas each fall, GATS has enjoyed tremendous growth: Since 2003, it has increased from 399 exhibitors occupying 107,275 sq ft of exhibit space to 561 exhibitors covering 194,022 sq ft.

“We owe this honor to the support GATS has received from the trucking industry,” says Alan Sims, GATS executive director. “Thanks to our exhibitors, sponsors and attendees for continuing to make each year a bigger success.” GATS also made the Fastest 50 list in 2005.

More than 230 senior-level executives from the exhibition industry attended the awards ceremony in Boston, which celebrated the 50 fastest-growing shows in North America. GATS is one of only three shows to receive top honors; only 1 percent of trade shows make the Fastest 50 list. Adam Schaffer, Tradeshow Week publisher, called the managers of the winning shows “top professionals that deserve this important recognition.”
