| For Immediate Release  | | Cecil Dowdy was honored prior to the Alabama - Mississippi State game last November. | Longtime Randall employee dies in hunting accident Tuscaloosa (November 25, 2002) – Cecil Dowdy Jr., who headed Randall Publishing Co.'s TruckStops Express truck stop distribution business, was killed accidentally while duck hunting near Helena, Ark., on Nov. 24. He was 57. Dowdy, a native of Cherokee, Ala., played for the University of Alabama’s national championship football teams in 1964 and 1965 and was a consensus All-America selection in 1966. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, 721 Greensboro Ave. Family visitation will be held one hour earlier at the same location.
